Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
Sage is a family app: a parent gets clear answers to everyday problems, and the family members they choose stay in the loop. Privacy is the product, not a compliance page — this policy says what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
Who we are
Sage is an independently operated service. Contact: support@sagefamily.app.
What we collect
- Account: your phone number (used to sign in) and the name you choose.
- Family: who is in your family on Sage, roles, and invitations you send.
- Content you share with Sage: questions you ask and photos you submit for an answer (for example, a parking sign or a bill).
- Messages: conversations in Sage threads, including ones bridged over SMS.
- Device and usage data: app version, device type, crash reports, and product analytics.
What we use it for
- Answering your questions — that is the product.
- Keeping the right family members informed, under the sharing rules you set. Safety alerts always reach your family's admins.
- Signing you in and keeping your account secure.
- Improving Sage and fixing failures.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your family's content to advertise to you.
- One family can never see another family's data.
- No family member can read another member's private conversations with Sage — no setting or role grants that.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Service providers
Sage runs on carefully chosen processors that handle data only on our instructions — providers for cloud hosting, text-message delivery, AI processing, payments, analytics, and error reporting. Payment card details are handled by the app stores or our payment processor and never touch Sage's servers.
Sensitive information
Health- and finance-related content gets additional protection: it is encrypted with keys specific to your family, access is logged, and it is destroyed when your family's data is deleted.
Retention and deletion
You can delete messages, content, or your whole account. Deleted messages have their content permanently scrubbed. When a family account closes, data follows a stated timeline: a recovery window, then archival, then deletion.
Age
Sage members are 18 or older.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information. Contact us and we will honor them. We do not discriminate for exercising them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
